Ingredients
Dough

Sauce
  • Canned crushed tomatoes: 400 grams
  • Garlic, minced: 2 cloves
  • Fresh basil leaves, chopped: 15 grams
  • Oregano: 5 grams
  • Salt: 3 grams
  • Black pepper: 2 grams
  • Olive oil: 20 milliliters
Cheese & Toppings
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded: 300 grams
  • Parmesan cheese, grated: 50 grams
  • Italian sausage, cooked and sliced: 200 grams
  • Onion, sliced: 1 medium (about 100 grams)
  • Green bell pepper, sliced: 1/2 (about 75 grams)
Instructions
  1. Prepare the Dough: In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5 - 10 minutes until foamy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5 - 7 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 - 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  1. Make the Sauce: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Pour in canned crushed tomatoes, chopped basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 15 - 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
