Spiced Persimmon Bourbon Smash

Ingredients

  • 2 oz (60 ml) bourbon

  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lemon juice

  • ¾ oz (22 ml) honey syrup (1:1 honey and hot water)

  • ½ ripe persimmon, peeled and cubed

  • A pinch of ground cinnamon

  • Ice cubes

  • Optional garnish: persimmon slice or cinnamon stick


Instructions

  1. Muddle:
    In a shaker, muddle the persimmon cubes with honey syrup until smooth.

  2. Add Ingredients:
    Pour in bourbon, lemon juice, and cinnamon.

  3. Shake:
    Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.

  4. Strain:
    Double strain into a glass filled with fresh ice to remove pulp.

  5. Garnish:
    Add a persimmon slice or cinnamon stick for aroma and presentation.


Notes & Tips

  • Choose ripe persimmons: They should be soft to the touch for best flavor and sweetness.

  • Adjust sweetness: Add more honey syrup if your persimmon is slightly tart.

  • Make it lighter: Replace bourbon with rum or vodka for a softer profile.
